Meet Lisa

Certified Fitness Trainer
and Personal Coach
Dip.PT (CIMSPA)

Sports Day at school was always the best day of the year for me! I represented my school in the National Athletics team, I played hockey for the local county, and I trained at a local sports stadium with some top Olympic Athletes when I was in my teens. I also entered the UK Gladiators TV show some 25 years ago. In 2001, I cycled from John O’Groats to Lands End for Cancer Research. I have taken part in many different sporting events, including an annual charity 13.5K Fun Run, and two arduous Tough Mudder events, which were truly gruesome and very muddy but such a great test of stamina, endurance and dedication. Would I do a third one….?

Maybe not! Ha Ha!

My Motto

BE STRONGER THAN YOUR EXCUSES is my motto - it is written on my gym wall at home and what I practice is what I preach! My passion for health and fitness started at a very early age. Exercise has been my life since my school days and still is 40 years on!  I tell my clients that health cannot be bought, neither does it grow on trees! It has to be earned... you have to work hard and stay consistent to work towards achieving your goals.

My Values & Beliefs

I strongly believe in an 80/20 approach to achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Moderation and balance with both food and exercise is key. Calorie counting and restrictive fad diets can work for some, but I have never been a fan! I truly believe that if we follow a healthy 80/20 food and exercise plan, we can soon achieve a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Oh, and then there’s age! "I’m too old to do that, I wish I was younger and started years ago!" But it's never too late to start and you are not too old! I hear this so many times, but age is just a number. There are so many different exercises that there’s no reason why strength, flexibility and mobility should be ignored if you have reached a certain age! Loving our body, regardless of our age is the way to go! Being fit and healthy and feeling good about ourselves within our body is what really counts.
